Femininity and grace with Maygel Coronel
7th October, 2025

Creative director Maygel Coronel started her namesake label in 2017, created at first to reflect a customer similar to her – global, Latin and contemporary – the brand has gone from strength to strength. The pieces are designed to be modern and streamline, and effortlessly ‘melt’ into the skin. As the label lands on site (perfectly timed for our escape in search of the winter sun), we speak with the brand's founder to learn more…
Fabric of Society: Femininity and grace are woven into the heart of your designs and the brand. What does femininity mean to you?
Maygel Coronel: To me, femininity is about embracing every layer of who we are, our strength, vulnerability, softness, and boldness. Our designs aim to reflect that: they’re sculptural yet delicate, practical yet poetic. Femininity is about celebrating the body, in all its stages and shapes, and dressing in a way that feels empowering and authentic.
FoS: As a Latin brand loved in the Middle East, what excites you about growing in this region and why do you think women in the feel such a connection with your pieces?
Maygel Coronel: We’re deeply honored by the connection women in the Middle East feel with our work. I believe it comes from shared values: an appreciation for craftsmanship, modesty that doesn’t compromise on sensuality, and a love of timeless, elegant pieces that celebrate the body with grace. Growing in this region excites us because the women here are style confident, they reinterpret our pieces in ways that feel both bold and respectful of their culture. It’s inspiring to see our designs become part of their unique expressions of femininity. The Fabric of Society customer embodies the modern woman: she’s fearless in her style choices yet deeply connected to her roots. Our pieces are designed for exactly that kind of woman, someone who wants to stand out without feeling overdone, someone who finds strength in her femininity and elegance in her individuality. Seeing her pair our sculptural silhouettes with her personal touch is always inspiring.
FoS: Please can you tell us more about your brand vision and philosophy?
Maygel Coronel: Our vision has always been to create with intention: pieces that celebrate the body, honor craftsmanship, and foster meaningful connections. As a brand rooted in Colombia, community is at our core. All our production happens in-house, which allows us to create fair employment opportunities, especially for women, and ensure every garment reflects our values of quality and care.
FoS: Do you have any style tips for how to wear and style Maygel Coronel?
Maygel Coronel: Our pieces are designed to transition effortlessly from the beach to the city. I love pairing our one-pieces with wide-leg linen trousers or a tailored skirt for a sleek evening look. Accessories should feel natural and minimal too. The key is to let the silhouette speak for itself and style it in a way that feels true to your own rhythm and lifestyle.
FoS: Please can you tell us more about your AW25 collection and any favourite looks from the selection?
Maygel Coronel: The AW25 collection, CHIAROSCURO, draws inspiration from the interplay of light and shadow, how contrasts can reveal depth, emotion, and nuance. The palette reflects this duality: rich grays, deep navy, mustard yellow, dusty pink, and the ever-present black and white. These shades evoke a quiet drama, like a painting where light gently carves out form.
In terms of fabrics, we continue to work with our signature Lycra, both in its sheer, lightweight iteration and our original sculptural yet soft version. This season also introduces a velvety Lycra that brings a touch of refined elegance, alongside our elevated, Italian-crafted knitwear pieces. Beyond the knitwear, each garment is meticulously constructed in-house in Colombia, where our artisans handcraft every rosette and fold with precision and care.
The Cardozo dress is a personal favorite. It's perfect for special occasions when you want to turn heads while staying true to your own sense of elegance in a very minimal way. It’s a dress that celebrates the body’s natural form and feels timeless yet daring.
