Get to know MIISTA shoes
9th July 2025

They say you know when it’s a MIISTA shoe, so unique, beautiful and full of personality a pair that they can’t be mistaken for any one else. This distinctive approach is the brain child of owner and creative director, Laura Villasenin and her business partner (and brother), Pablo. Shunning fast fashion and problematic trends MIISTA has carved out a niche of its own – refined yet unconventional, directional yet grounded. Shoes that are striking, unforgettable and bold.
The sibling duo grew up in northern Spain, the region’s rich history of textile production continuing to influence them to this day, and founded MIISTA in East London. They now boast MIISTA stores as far afield as New York. “First and foremost, MIISTA shoes are striking”, explains our head of buying, Catriona Macleod. “Sculptural heels meld with bold silhouettes and unexpected textures. More than accessories, the care and attention to each design rivals the work of modern art. I was so excited to get them on board at Fabric of Society. They fit with our brand so well”.
The brands commitment to ethical production and practices is woven into their DNA. Opting for a slow fashion ethos and small-scale manufacturing – meaning products are made with longevity in mind and a deep respect for the people producing them, and the planet and its resources. Rather than hinder the brands success it’s what sets them apart, especially in the middle east where consumers gravitate towards brands with a story and values which they feel aligned with. “Customers in the Middle East are particularly tuned into how things are made. Opting for brands who seek out time-honoured techniques and expert artisans. These pieces tell a story”, explains Catriona. And MIISTA have their story deeply woven into their work. By having full transparency of their processes, materials and the artisans who create their pieces, their products come to life.
This season’s collection feels at once holiday-ready and city chic, showcasing instantly the versatility of MIISTA designs. The Asia kitten heel shoes are inspired by corsetry and completely transform the classic court shoe into something cool, modern and fun. And what designs are the tastemakers leaning towards? "My go to pair for the summer have been their Yeida ballet pump in the softest butter-yellow shade. There's something so nostalgic and carefree about them. We’ll sell out of this style for sure!", reveals Catriona.
Versatile, beautiful and mindfully made, MIISTA is undoubtably the shoe brand of the season for good reason. The perfect holiday packing go-to, pair their designs with breezy dresses from Simkhai, SIR. And St Agni and a holds all shopper from fellow slow fashion accessories brand Dragon Diffusion.
