Róhe: The Label To Know
12th June, 2024
The Netherlands is well known as the destination for fashion-forward brands who prioritise quality fabrics and impeccable cuts over fleeting trends. Róhe embodies this ethos and it’s now on Fabric of Society. Discover why we love it so, and we think you will too.
Róhe began with an undeniable workwear leaning look, however, as the brand has grown – and our work worlds shifted – the label has expanded into every corner of our stylish wardrobes, from sets made for summers in the city, to minimalist and beautiful event-ready dresses. An instant hit with the Fabric of Society girl, our head of buying Catriona Macleod shares her excitement at adding the trending brand to the FoS designer list, “I always buy with the FoS customer at the front of my mind but Róhe is one of those labels that buyer's really love for themselves too. I like to think of it as a slightly more affordable but just as beautiful The Row – which is also a firm fashion buyer's favourite!”.
Thanks to the impeccable guidance of the brand’s (equally impeccable) founders, Marieke Meulendijks and Maickel Weyers, the label has perfected the art of staying fresh too – after all, the minimalist trend is nothing new. “Róhe is unique to me. Simplicity is their trademark aesthetic but they keep it youthful. Nothing feels too serious or grown up, so it still retains a sense of fun! Case in point is their beautiful sleeveless blazer with exposed raw seam edges”, explains Catriona.
This season Róhe’s ‘quiet confidence’ – one of its founding principles – seems a little louder. Pieces have a playfulness to them such as asymmetric hems and wrap over edges – this tailored skirt and waistcoat vest combination being a great case in point. This is not tailoring for those who are afraid of compliments and a knowing nod of appreciation. For the traditionalists, Róhe’s beige wide-leg tailored pants are simply the one. With a ‘just-right’ slouch to them, and cut in the most beautiful silk viscose blend they are, for want of a better phrase, a summer must-have and the reason the term ‘investment piece’ was invented. These are pants you’ll wear season after season, whether with a casual tank, shirting or super-soft knitwear.
