To celebrate Saudi National Day, we invited Haya to choose her favourites from Fabric of Society, pieces that nod to the colours, shapes and mood of the city around her while still feeling entirely her own. Here, she talks about personal style, the art of a great gift and the pieces she’d happily keep for herself.
How would you describe your personal style in three words?
Haya: Simple, elevated, Haya!
What makes the perfect Saudi National Day look for you?
Haya: A pop of green, for sure, or something traditional but with your own twist added to it.
When dressing for a special occasion, what makes an outfit feel distinctly you?
Haya: The simplicity of a look is usually what I gravitate towards. I never want to feel like I’m putting on a costume; I want to feel authentically me in whatever I’m wearing.
You’ve selected your own Fabric of Society pieces for Saudi National Day. What drew you to them?
Haya: The modern yet earthy tones reminded me of the shapes and colours I see on a daily basis around my city.
If you had to choose just one favourite piece from your Fabric of Society selection, which would it be?
Haya: Definitely the earthy-toned Vivienne Westwood set. It’s elevated and, again, those earthy tones are what I usually go back to.
How would you style your favourite pieces — and where would you wear them?
Haya: I’d add my own touch with my jewellery and try to simplify the look to my liking without taking away from the piece itself. I would wear the Magda jacket with a cool pair of baggy jeans on a night out in NYC, for sure.
Is there a piece you think every woman should have in her wardrobe?
Haya: A signature dress that flatters the figure without cutting you off — something that makes you feel your best.
What’s the best fashion gift you’ve ever received?
Haya: One of the best things I’ve ever received — and still wear — is my mother’s vintage Rolex. She gave it to me when I was the same age she was when she got it. I wear it often and it holds so many fond memories for me. It also dresses up anything I’m wearing.
When buying a gift for someone you love, what do you look for?
Haya: I think about the sentiment, and then I narrow down my options based on fashion trends and needs.
Which piece from your Fabric of Society selection would you most like to give as a gift?
Haya: I’d gift my little sister the ROTATE red dress. I could see her attending a huge event wearing it. To me, she’s the most beautiful person in the world — she would look great in it.
And which piece would you secretly rather keep for yourself?
Haya: All of them! I’m never not impressed by the selection that Fabric of Society has. I’ve been a fan since day one.
