23rd March, 2023

One look at our new next-gen labels and we’re already whipping out our credit cards. With a shared collective of innovation-led style and unique aesthetic, Kimhēkim, Ioannes and Eckhaus Latta are an exciting, welcomed addition.

Fast establishing themselves at the top of our wish-list, these rising designers encapsulate sought-after experimental style and soon-to-be cult status.

Kimhēkim

Pushing the boundaries of design and creativity is Seoul-based Kimhēkim who brings a breath of fresh air with its bold, contemporary designs. Founder Kiminte Kimhēkim embraces his Korean heritage which can be seen within his work as he strives to marry traditional costume with the core principles of haute couture; influenced from his time at Balenciaga no doubt.

Kimhēkim favours exaggerated silhouettes and elegant aesthetics; expect clean-cut shapes with extravagant details. The label’s read-to-wear features a dramatic take on everyday apparel such as the Reconstructed classic white shirt with exaggerated cuffs; a refreshing take on the wardrobe classic. Denim features heavily in the collection, from the constructed Corset Top to the Denim Cargo Pants; sure to be an instant sell-out.

Ioannes

Ionnaes is the Paris-based up-and-coming brand we’re all talking about right now. From the brainpower of German designer Johannes Boehl Cronau, inspiration comes from the process of art and garment-making traditions resulting in ready-to-wear pieces for forward thinking individuals.

The ultra-modern, feminine silhouettes such as the unique Twisted drape maxi dress push the boundaries of sartorial artistry and is destined to be at the top of many a wish list. We’re imagining the Melange jacket and trousers styled up with a pair of white trainers; a design that encapsulates modern aesthetic on traditional tailoring.

The collection features 100% upcycled materials for knitwear and uses deadstock for woven materials, reducing the brand's environmental impact and making them an appealing choice for the eco-conscious shopper.

Eckhaus Latta

New York based label, Eckhaus Latta, is the innovative creation of friends Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta who met whilst studying sculpture and textiles. With influences from both laid-back LA and the cosmopolitan bustle of New York City, the experimental brand has a conceptual approach to playing with unexpected proportions and tactile materials.

With a sense of elevated streetwear about it, the unique designs easily translate to every day wear, such as their print wide leg jeans and the shrunk fine-knit turtle neck top which equally encapsulate that sought-after Y2K vibe.

Look out for sculptured shapes and unexpected cut-outs; we have our eye on the Patchwork slit maxi skirt for its original screen-printed artwork. Dynamic prints are seen throughout the collection with strong influences from outer space, such as striking aura-like prints and futuristic galaxy designs. This conceptual label epitomises future fashion, with a mission to break boundaries with their original and abstract designs; we’re excited to see what comes next from this dynamic duo.
